Cheers Aplenty With Christmas Costumes

Santa costumes will bring more fun and cheer to the whole family come Christmas. For this reason, people love to celebrate special occasions with special holiday costumes. The elder men of the family would dress up as Santa clause and bring gifts that can later be opened up by the family members. He can also add humor to his presence to boost everybody's cheerful mood. Santa costumes can be found almost everywhere now. Thanks to the internet, you can also purchase them online. However, when you have any problems with the costume, there may be little you can do as returning goods purchased online is still a bit of a problem.

Traditional Christmas costumes are usually Santa suit costumes. There are other characters too like Mrs. Claus, the elves, reindeer and the three kings. The size between Mr and Mrs Claus differs and the elves are all of course in green color petite clothes. For a reindeer costume, there should be a plastic horn included. As for those who would like to be Rudolph, don't forget the red nose trademark. The three kings costume should consist of robes and capes.

Since Christmas is all about relaxing and comfort, the material used for the holiday costumes is cotton. It is a common material used in ordinary shirts thus tailors adapt this item to their design. Cotton is a light fabric and lets the body control its natural temperature. It can also be washed easily using ordinary detergents. Santa suit costumes are made with cotton in mind since the material is easy on the body. Some tailors add a hidden belly bag to give the impression that the wearer has a big stomach. However, some guys already have large waistlines thus some tailors remove this feature from the design.

Santa suit costumes are colored red. It is the commonly accepted color for the character as seen in various media. All the aspects of Christmas holiday costumes are colored red as it is the shade of the season. Green can also be used for some outfit although it does not match for the person wearing the Santa costume. Brown is used for the reindeer costume to give it a more natural look. Meanwhile, those who want to become the Three Kings have a shade of different colors. The popular ones include blue, violet and even yellow to signify their royal line.

Among all the other yearly events, Christmas has the most costumes which can have various accessories. Santa suit costumes have a big bag of toys where the wearer can put the gifts that will be given to everyone. In Mrs. Claus holiday costumes, a simple handbag is acceptable as an accessory. The Three Kings have their gifts as extra items. For reindeer, there is no need for accessories since the costume in itself is quite heavy with additional items. These extra materials can also be bought from the theme shop where the costume was purchased.

Before you buy the costume, you must make sure to try it on. This is to avoid you from buying the wrong size. it will be very uncomfortable and you will not be able to enjoy the occasion. Any ill fitted areas can be modified according to your body shape. Kids are very careless with their costumes. Their outfit will need extra care. Santa costumes are supposed to be the most hardwearing. Nevertheless, you must pay attention to the bottom part, as this is the most vulnerable part of the costume. If you are satisfied with the costume, you can take it home.

The best costumes are right nearby. There is always a costume shop near you. You can purchase you costumes for the holidays easily. A Santa costume is more suitable for bigger guys as they will fit the characters perfectly. However, the most important thing for everyone is to have lots and lots of fun in your holiday costumes. Everyone will be up for a great time.

As the owner of a leading adult costumes store, Raymond Plona markets different costumes as well as costume accessories like hat and wigs for costumes for example. His site regularly features clearance costume sale on items like angel costumes, pirate costumes, Disney princess costumes, just to name a few.

Adult couple costumes are also pretty much in vogue where by a pair dresses up vibrantly in costumes that complement each other, for instance the his and hers adult costume jungle set is a classic example. Sexy adult costumes or a sexy alternative to traditional costuming is sure to entice a man or woman to have some fun.

A sexy witch costume might bewitch you or costumes that help to make sure that Mary has more than just a little lamb to snuggle up with will grab your attention wittily. Women and men with plus size statistics don't need to side step from the fun and frolic of playing dressing up. Logos for Fashion and Clothing

If you are thinking of having a logo designed for your fashion and clothing business, you need to keep several important things in mind that might help you. First of all, you should be very clear about the kind of fashion clothing you are offering; it can be either high end fashion clothing like designer wear or budget clothing like jeans and t-shorts. Secondly you should be very focused on your theme i.e. the idea on which you are selling clothes; it has to be individual for every fashion and clothing line. Also, you should be very clear about the market you are targeting; the best logo is only designed if your designer knows about the age group or the class of people you are selling your product to.

Once you have these aspects worked out in your mind, it becomes easy to depict the kind of logo you want to have for your clothing business. The logo should be done in such a way that it accurately represents the clothing company and outlines the type of clothing being offered and appeals to people who will come to buy them.

Fashion and clothing logos are a very profitable way to bring more and more customers to your products and that too again and again if you prove your worth. A unique clothing line or a boutique needs a good and descriptive logo to make new clients and lasting reputation in the market. Some of the most popular logos for fashion clothing are Nike, Polo, and Ralph Lauren that are very well know among people who don't even buy their products.

There are a variety of ways to make your fashion and clothing logo a unique and distinctive brand name for your business. For this you need to consult a logo designer who knows the market standards as well as realizes the way consumers' minds work. To attract more people to buy your clothing, you need to design your logo in such a way that appeals to masses and they want to buy your designs.

Some important questions to consider when going for a fashion logo are:

  • What do you prefer, an image logo or a text logo

  • Do you have any preference for colors or design?

  • The style of the logo i.e. the way it should be done to promote your business

  • Some signature or distinctive mark that should be same as on your logo and clothing
  • It is important that you give a lot of thought to these questions and know their answers before you contact a logo designer to design an exclusive logo for your clothing business. Keeping in mind the fast changing trends of the fashion world, you need to have a logo that suits your line of clothing all-time. In other cases only a symbol or a sign is enough to make a logo popular that speaks volumes for the quality products e.g. Nike.

Fashion and clothing logos are mostly bright colored and bold that give strong vibes to people inviting them to come to you. In some cases, logos are done in a single color while in others; multitudes of colors are used to represent the various forms of clothing and accessories being marketed.

As your logo would be used for promotional purposes on banners, brochures, cards as well as clothes, it should be designed keeping in mind these aspects and it should look good wherever it is placed. However, the first stop in designing your fashion and clothing logo is that you should be well aware of what you want and how it would be used. This way you would be making the most of your logo and get maximum profits in your business.

What Are You Going to Hand Out on Halloween?

Halloween. Just the name of this holiday brings images of ghosts, witches, and goblins to mind. Yet it is the favorite holiday for many kids and every loves to go Trick-or-Treating. But how did we start the custom of trick-or-treating?

On Halloween night, children across North America and in other countries go from house to house in costumes, asking for treats with the question, "Trick or treat?" The "trick" part of "trick or treat" is a threat to play a trick on the homeowner or his property if no treat is given. Of course, many children are only interested in the treat part!

The origins of Trick-or-Treating is hard to define. Many cultures around the world have some type of fall festival that includes either begging for some type of treat, or doing something to earn the treat.

Chinese, the Egyptians, and Aztecs all believed that the dead required food, which was put outside as part of the custom.

There was an old Irish peasant practice called for going door to door to collect money, bread cake, cheese, eggs, butter, nuts, or apples, preparation for the festival of St. Columbus Kill.

In Britain, the poor would go begging and the housewives would give them special treats called "soulcakes". This was called "going a-souling", and the "soulers" would promise to say a prayer for the dead. In time, children became the beggars going from house to house asking for apples, buns, and money. It even shows up in Shakespeare's play, The Two Gentlemen of Verona

As Europeans immigrated to North America, many different Halloween customs blended together to the current Halloween custom of Trick-or-Treating. In 1911, a newspaper in Kingston, Ontario, Canada reported that "it was normal for the smaller children to go street guising on Halloween between 6 and 7 p.m., visiting shops and neighbors to be rewarded with nuts and candies for their rhymes and songs"

The real question is "What do you give out on Halloween?"

Often our modern values compete with the trick-or treating customs of our childhood. Many of us are concerned about environment. It's hard to fit those values with the idea of buying low nutrition snacks, that are mass produced and could have traveled thousands of miles before reaching a store near you.

With today's economy, does it make sense to spend money on candy or chocolate bars when most families have other financial priorities?

Of course, many families are trying to encourage healthy eating habits. Should we be giving out potato chips or other high calorie snacks?

But it still comes back to when the door bell rings on October 31, what are you going to hand out to all those expectant faces?

Creative Kids at Home has asked it visitors to share some of their best ideas for creative Halloween Treats.

For people who want to hand out more nutritional snacks, they could think about things like:

    • Mandarin Oranges
    • Small boxes of Raisins
    • Pretzels
    • Packet of Hot Chocolate

For people who would like ideas for something other than food to hand out, they could consider handing out:

    • small puzzles
    • hand games
    • passes to the recreation center or movie theater
    • interesting stickers

Do you have some great ideas to add to this list? Add you suggestions to the growing list www.creativekidsathome.com/ and we can all have a healthier, greener Halloween.

Tips For Throwing A Fancy Dress Party

Throwing a fancy dress party is easy. Most fancy dress events are about the costumes, so you as a host(ess) only have to worry about the party basics like invitations, food, drinks, and music. Of course, you could just do the minimum, but you can also take it up a notch.

One way to add an extra element to your fancy dress party is to give it a theme. There's the old standard of “vicars and tarts,” but why not come up with something new and original? You could give your costume party a political theme, or turn your apartment into a zoo and make everyone come as their favorite animal!

Not only will a theme give your attendees a focus for their outfits, but it will also give your decorations a purpose. Your Hawaiian fancy dress party could be complimented by Tiki torches, Don Ho records and pineapple cocktails. You could dress up your school uniform party with chalkboards, rulers, and apple hors d'oeuvres.

Don't think of a theme as a limitation, but rather as a focus for your party. If you prefer to give your guests more freedom with their costume choices, try to inspire clever costume ideas by offering up a small prize for the best fancy dress outfit. You could also steal a neat wedding idea and leave a few disposable cameras lying around so that guests can take candid shots. You can mail out prints after the party or post them online.

Whatever theme or non-theme you choose, don't forget the essential party hosting basics; send invitations early, follow up with errant RSVP'ers, get lots of food, invite the neighbors, break out the cocktails, prepare your music ahead of time, and make sure you get to enjoy yourself too!

Sexy Costumes - Your Halloween Selection?

A few years back if you were invited to a Halloween party it filled you with dread. The thought of having to find a fancy dress shop and then the pressure of having to try and find a suitable costume from their selection or risk driving another 25 miles to find the next store. So you have to decide between taking a costume from those you can see or risking all on the grass being greener elsewhere. Your weekend is gone before you know it.

And the day the party after wasn't much better feeling worse for wear from the night before and having to traipse back to the shop to return the costume. The wait in queue and then hoping that they wouldn't spot the glowing red wine stain that appears to be shouting 'look at me; look at me' incessantly as the assistant is checking it back in. Recognise the scenario?

Nowadays however, the situation has changed dramatically and all for the good. There are masses of costumes available at prices where buying your own is an affordable option. And the whole galaxy of character costumes is available from an ever increasing array of shops and internet sites.

Now there will always remain a faithful few who actually enjoy rummaging through the racks of a fancy dress shop to see what is still available. And long may they remain. Diversity is a good thing and without customers in the high street, our towns, cities and shopping malls would become duller and less interesting places.

Let's look at what the growth of internet shopping means to you when searching for the right fancy dress. The internet is quick and the internet is global. You can hop from site to site comparing ranges and prices. You can buy the costume from one site and the perfect accessories from another - remember it's the accessories that complete any costume.

Internet has no parking fees. From the comfort of your own home, you can undertake a fun journey to find the perfect costume for you or your partner. And it's all delivered direct to your door. Worried about the costume not fitting? Make sure you're using a reputable site as most now offer full money back no quibble guarantees.

Manufacturers have been quick to spot the growth in internet retailing of fancy dress and they have launched some fantastic ranges of costumes and accessories specifically for delivery through the postal system. They've also not been slow in recognising that customers are now becoming (rightfully) more selective and more demanding in both design and quality. Their traditional ranges for the staple markets at Halloween and Christmas have undergone radical change and now there are ranges of Halloween jewellery as well as makeup, weapons, shoes, boots, tights and stockings. Coordinating ranges of fancy dress costume accessories are available for most if not all costume themes.

All of the manufacturers have also been quick to identify that the anonymity offered by internet purchasing broadens the market for couples who want to consider purchasing sexy costumes for role play or fantasy wear. Buying a sexy costume can be nerve wrecking but the availability of good internet based retail outlets can relieve you of any lingering embarrassment.

And, sexy doesn't always have to mean tacky. Costume house designers have created some extremely elegant and sexy fancy dress costumes and more and more manufacturers are creating costumes to emphasis femininity and sexuality rather than slavishly seeking male only appeal through the lowest common denominator.

So take a little free time, fix yourselve a drink, power-up your computer log into your favourite fancy dress internet retailer's site and let's go shopping.

All Set For a Sexy Halloween Party

If you are planning, or going to, an adult Halloween party then why not turn it into a Hot Halloween affair with a sexy theme, or at least a sexy interlude later in the evening. What can you do, though, to add a bit of spice to the annual horror fest, without drifting too far from the traditional Halloween themes and practices?

    Setting the Sexy Party Scene

To achieve a sexy Halloween atmosphere for your party, you can make use of many of the usual Halloween props. If you are the host or hostess, then all is under your control. If your friends are hosting the party, then you could always take the initiative, suggest the sensual ambience, and then offer to help get it all set up.

Creating a sexy atmosphere for Halloween is not necessarily that difficult, as lighting can play an important role in both a frightening Halloween scene set, and also a romantic and seductive atmosphere. So, if your home, or one room of your home, is set for a traditional Halloween scene, with low lights, and hidden horrors, it need only take one catalyst to turn that very same atmosphere into a sensual one.

As far as the lighting goes, some Halloween props are ideal for this dual role. Strips of black lights can be very effective at creating horror effects, illuminating fluorescent paint graphics, and they can also make white surfaces glow and dark surfaces disappear. But those same lights, charged by the sexiness of the atmosphere, can be sensual too.

The same applies to strobe lights. Pulsating in the darkness or subdued light, they can create some strange effects against the walls and ceiling, where you may have your Halloween scene setters, wall and mirror grabbers, and hanging decorations. They can also help to provide the mood for a more sensual interlude later.

There are two more types of lighting that can be appropriate for the sexy and scary Halloween atmosphere. Glow bulbs are a great innovation for some really weird lighting effects. When exposed to any light source, the special silicone film shines a vivid neon, and these can be especially effective with strobe lights shining on them intermittently. Finally, never forget the candles, associated with romantic evenings, seduction, witches brewing their evil brews, and vampires drooling over their poor victim in the dungeon, about to sink those fangs into her defenceless neck. In fact, candles can be the ultimate lighting prop for any Halloween party.

Dressing For A Sexy Halloween Party

If you are inviting people to your home for a Halloween party, then you can advise them in advance that it will be a sexy theme. In other words, "please come dressed in the sexiest Halloween costume you can find".

Finding that outfit will be much easier for the women than the men. The sexy costumes sold online all seem to be for women, but come on guys, use your imagination, I am sure it will be appreciated.

Popular girls' and women's costumes that are most popular with the guys can also serve for Halloween. Seductive woman cop costumes, and this year especially, sexy pirate costumes are the vogue. There are loads more ideas to choose from, though, including seductive schoolgirls, revealing nurse's uniforms, French maids. With a more Halloween touch, vampires, wizards and witches can be transferred into alluring and irresistible women with the right costume, and yes, you can find them. The only problem for the ladies is choosing from such a vast range of possibilities.

Adding the Sexy Catalysts to the Party

You have the lighting set up for horror or sensuality; your guests have taken the request seriously and turned up dressed to kill in their alluring, tantalizing, evocative and seductive costumes. With all that sexiness on view and display, it would surely be a sexy Halloween party. But what else could you do to take that sexiness to a higher level?

One thing you could do is to play some horror dance music, if you can find it; if not, some other fun dance music will do. Then, have a sexy dancing contest for men and women. With the strobe lighting and revealing costumes, that could be an enjoyable prelude to a party game, such as Pervartistry, an adult, but tasteful, form of charades which is sure to take the sexy mood up to a new level. Just imagine playing that game, and the dancing, in a sexy Greek toga or other sexy Halloween costume!

    Whatever you decide, have fun!

Set your Halloween party alive with sexy costumes, scary Halloween masks and props

4 Great Tips For Picking Adult Celebrity Halloween Costumes

Finding a good Celebrity theme Halloween costume is the easiest, fastest way to pick a successful party costume and to have the most popular outfit at the event. Celebrity Halloween costumes can be much more than your favorite pop or movie star. So many people and sports stars pop out of the news everyday, you'll never run out of ideas. How about this one: Governor Sarah Palin is now a celebrity politician. You can get the look by using early 1960s eyeglasses, a navy suit with a 1950s bouffant hair style. Her look is easily replicated and identified! Arguably it is likely to be one of the top picks for this Halloween's celebration. So if you get invited to a last minute Halloween bash, and you have a week until Halloween and the party--with costume rental shops and discount store racks picked clean--you're still in business. Where do you find a costume? Here are four quick ideas:

    1) Choose your favorite celebrity or someone newsworthy. Find the image-search tool on Google to locate pictures for your Halloween celebrity costume choice. The pictures you find will help you figure out what to do, and make a plan. You'll find the images form a composite style analysis which facilitates quick Halloween celebrity costume ideas.

    2) Going as a couple has never been easier than this year...look at "Brangelina" for example (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) and other famous combine-named couples as you pick out Halloween celebrity costume ideas. Also checkout the online entertainment sites and blogs for the latest gossip! The concept is to catch the style of the desired celebrity, noting signature items such as hats and jewelry and to reproduce their essence, simply. You can shop thrift or retro stores for clothing, shoes and accessories, or go online for theatre and costume shops. Something like inexpensive wigs are readily available and can be styled, gelled or whatever; also, makeup may be required to capture the celebrity persona. Your character should be easy to identify, while your true identity is anyone's guess.

    3) The femme fatale is still a viable Halloween celebrity costume type. For a retro theme, remember Marilyn Monroe or for contemporary personalities it could be Christina Aguilera or perhaps Paris Hilton. Marilyn would require red lipstick, a short blond wig with a glamorous style and a 1950s period glamour girl dress with wide skirt and dainty heels. Among the femme fatales, Paris might require nothing more than lingerie, the wig and plenty of pink lipstick and mascara (if you have the nerve). Otherwise, you can go for a sun dress. Unmistakably Paris. Some ideas for guys include George Clooney (the swagger, the head and attitude).

    4) How about some classic celebrities? Lauren Bacall and Bogie had strong, distinctive personas. Lauren's signatures were her slim 1940s high-class dresses, her hair and a provocative, stage presence. It is even easier to find stuff for these characters at thrift and retro stores; and good wigs are your prime resources. Bogie's hat, the ever present cigarette and plain suit describe him to a T. Add a little sophisticated macho and you're Bogie. Developing your character is key to making any Halloween celebrity costume idea work.

Using these techniques, think about these celebrity possibilities: Elvis is a perennial favorite. How about Dustin Hoffman as Tootsie, complete with 1980s eyeglasses and a shimmering red vamp dress? Don't forget how horror fans may enjoy being Robert Englund, as Freddie Krueger or the Phantom of the Opera. Hannibal Lecter is another unforgettably scary guy. Get a mask like that he wore in lockup. How about Hannibal and Clarisse? A couple? She's Clarisse, with a bottle of Chianti and a piece of liver. Have fun picking your celebrity, and now you're ready!

One of the Halloween shows on offer is "Mickey's Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party", this is especially perfect if you have young children. The party started in September and is due to continue through the first weekend in November. This is an annual event and is held at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

If you are staying too far away from the Kingdom then why not look into car hire in Orlando? There are many options to choose from and cheap car hire can be quite easy to get hold of as long as you search and compare prices.

Whatever way you get there, it is well worth a visit and you are assured that you will be in for a spine tingling good time but all in a family friendly way. All of the well-known Disney characters will be there to see all dressed up in their spooky costumes.

Every Halloween themed evening will begin around 7pm and will feature trick or treating and even "treat trails", to top this off, the show will also feature "Mickey's Boo-to-you Halloween Parade" and a "Happy Hallowishes" fireworks spectacular, all to make sure that everyone is in the Halloween spirit of things.

This would be sure to make any Halloween special and memorable, especially if you have any young children who would love to see their favourite characters all dressed up for this spooky time of year.

If you are interested in car hire for your holiday, make sure you spend the time before your holiday comparing prices so that you can be sure you are getting the best deal available.

    Halloween Makeup Tips

Scars: One of the easiest and safest ways to make scars is to use colored tissue paper and corn syrup, yep you read it right corn syrup. Choose a color of tissue paper that matches the makeup color as closely as possible. The corn syrup will be sticky this will allow it to stick to your skin, allow it to dry completely then apply makeup. If you are looking for more realistic scars. Use a combination of toilet tissue and liquid latex, layer them at least 2 layers for strength. Then work to the desired shape you want your scar to be, and apply makeup.

Warts: (warning keep away from eyes) use black, or white pepper corns. Place on the nose using corn syrup, or eyelash glue. You can even use hairs from paint brush to create hairy warts for that extra gross look. Lightly paint around the area to blend with rest of makeup or apply face powder to soften the look.

Scabs: Can be one of the easiest, but most effective parts of your costume. You will need a few things before you get started. Some toilet tissue (plys separated), liquid latex and your choice of paint and makeup. Clean the area that you want to apply, and make sure there is no hair present (it will stick to hair) apply a small thin coat of Liquid Latex. Then apply 1 ply of the toilet tissue, and another thin layer of latex. Now pull up and cut the latex as needed, this will create the effect of skin pulled away. Apply darker makeup to the center and alternate with red's and blue's around the outside of the cap. You can even apply a little fake blood to increase the effect.

Protect you makeup by putting some plain talc powder or baby powder in an old sock, and pat on to the make up. This will help cure the makeup and help prevent it from running or blending together, making your work last all through the night.

Great Tips For Making a Princess Leia Halloween Adult Costume

Princess Leia is one of the hottest Halloween costumes out there this year, and making a costume for any of her looks is pretty simple. There is no need to spend a lot of money on a Princess Leia Halloween adult costume when you probably have a lot of the materials right in your own home. Also, making your own Halloween costume can be quite rewarding, in addition to economical.

The cult heroine Princess Leia is someone every little girl who loves the Star Wars stories fantasizes about becoming. She is strong-willed, beautiful, courageous, and powerful. There is nothing Princess Leia can't do, so dressing up as her makes for a wonderful Halloween costume.

The costume she was introduced to the world in is a very easy ensemble to create. So, in just a few minutes you will be able to create your very own Princess Leia Halloween adult costume.

In Star Wars: A New Hope Princess Leia wore a simple hooded white gown with flowing sleeves, white boots, and her famous cinnamon-bun hairstyle. For the dress, you can get away with using a simple white robe or gown as well as white fabric or bed sheet.

Just be sure that the fabric is lightweight and flowy. If you are sewing your own dress, use extra material or white pillowcase for the hood. The dress Leia wore in the film had a high collar, so you could use a white turtleneck shirt under the dress. A pair of white go-go boots will do nicely.

The two main accessories that you will need are your hair and your belt. (A laser gun will do nicely here as well.) You'll need the belt to mimic the look she had in the movie, and to keep your dress in place.

Ideally, you will use a silver and white belt but if you cannot locate or make one, use a black one. Get creative and use a strip of white material and affix silver jewelry or decorations to it.

For the infamous Princess Leia hair, you may want to get a long-haired wig and style it before you put it on. However, whether you do it with a wig or your real hair, the idea is the same. Part the hair down the middle and twist both sides into tight rolls that look like cinnamon buns.

The buns should be on both sides of the head, over the ears, and rather large. Fasten them with plenty of bobby pins and clips.

If you don't want to go with the traditional Princess Leia Halloween adult costume, you could choose her looks from any of the three films. When she was on Endor with the Ewoks, she dressed very sporty with a vest, pants, and boots.

While she was a prisoner of Jabba the Hutt, she wore a metal bikini with long leather flaps in the front and back of the bottom. If you are dressing like Princess Leia this year, go ahead and get creative with your ensemble!
